Why become a member?

The Apple and Pear Growers Association of South Australia (APGASA) deliver a number of services to our members. We act as a central source of information on a range of issues relating to the production and management of apples and pears in South Australia. We communicate to our members in a number of ways and in a recent member survey, 100% of recipients indicated that they had taken a course of action based on information received from us.
“The topics sent through by email have often been about events or topics that I normally wouldn’t know about, so it has been good to hear about these opportunities and topics.”

APGASA also host workshops and orchard walks to help improve growers’ skills and knowledge across a range of topics.

APGASA advocate and lobby on behalf of our members with government to work towards better outcomes for industry. In 2014/15 we actively advocated on a range of issues including water, biosecurity, planning, CFS Code of Practice and pest bird species and successfully won concessions for growers.

APGASA also actively promotes the apple and pear industry in South Australia through a range of promotional activities including the Royal Adelaide Show and Pick a Pink Lady Weekend , through social media and through an increasing presence in mainstream media. APGASA is also the central contact point for industry with media, government and the general public, speaking on behalf of industry.

Being a member enables you to have input into these activities and have a say in how your industry is being represented.
